GPHP Board Members

Andrew Roscoe, Managing Director

A skilled business leader with significant all-round experience of complex NHS processes gained through twenty years at the forefront of Primary Care. Andrew is well regarded for partnership working with commissioners, developing new community focused services whilst maintaining tight fiscal controls. Instrumental in the setup of GP Health Partners Ltd, Andrew now dedicates his time to growing the business to help the local primary care community continue to provide quality healthcare in frequently demanding conditions and an increasingly challenging, ever-evolving environment. With an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with strong analytical skills and the ability to either lead or work as part of a team, Andrew is ideally suited to take the federation forward.

Dr Vinothan Ganesaratnam, Medical Director

Previously Dr Ganesaratnam worked as a GP at the Longcroft Clinic in Banstead for three years before moving to Shotfield Medical Practice in Wallington. He continues to work regular clinical sessions across various Surrey Downs GP practices in addition to GPHP’s Improved Access Clinics, hence he is well aware of the significant challenges being faced at a ground level.

In his appointment to Medical Director for GPHP, Dr Ganesaratnam is excited to bring his enthusiasm and love of grass roots General Practice to help GPHP work efficiently to support our local GP practices in delivering high quality care for patients.

As a Clinical Auditor for both Sutton and Merton, Dr Ganesaratnam will bring his expertise to help streamline and innovate our services to optimise patient outcomes and help strengthen the patient relationship with local health care providers.  

Dr Clive Luxman, Chair

Dr Luxman has been a GP since 2009 and a Partner at Heathcote Medical Centre since 2012; he also has extensive experience of surgery in secondary care. Clinically, he has interests in diabetes and musculoskeletal medicine. He is passionate about optimising the use of IT in general practice and is continuously striving to make general practice as efficient as possible. This is especially important in the current climate to try to ensure the ongoing sustainability of general practice; hence, he is keen to translate these skills into the wider locality and federation. Throughout his career he has been determined to succeed in any projects he has been involved in. His calm, approachable manner is a genuine asset as is his ability to work cohesively with colleagues and associates.

Dr Shazid Karim, Non-Executive Director

Dr Karim has been a GP since 2011 and a partner at Cobham Health Centre since 2014. He joined the board of GPHP Health Partners Ltd in 2021 as a Non-Executive Director having worked closely with GPHP in his previous role as Co-Clinical Director of Leatherhead PCN. Allied to his role at GPHP, he holds a variety of posts including being the Clinical Lead for NEECH Community Hospital as well as being a Community Lead GP for Surrey Downs Health and Care (SDHC) allowing him to bring an overarching insight to the local healthcare landscape. He holds a PGC in Healthcare Management and Leadership providing him with the skills to ensure GPHP continues to progress in everchanging times. His personable nature coupled with his critical evaluation skills allow him to provide strategic direction to the board. Furthermore, his strong interpersonal skills allow him to work successfully with colleagues to ensure that the federation continues to be able to serve its patients through the provision of high-quality healthcare.

Helen Shute, Non-Executive Director

A professional Executive leader and transformation specialist with a reputation for making the complex simple; Helen is an adaptable, customer-focused leader of people, strategist, fixer and a go-to source for organisational best practice.  Oxford-educated, Helen offers the benefit of over twenty years’ experience across the full spectrum of the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Helen brings a breadth of expertise, understanding and real-life experience to her roles and has a proven track record delivering change and developing supportive cultures and high performing teams to deliver exceptional results.

GPHP Operations Team

Katherine Rush, Operations Manager

With a varied resume and a range of transferable skills acquired in primarily start-up businesses, Katherine understands the need for versatility in the workplace. She endeavours to provide best-fit solutions and drive project success through sound implementation and evaluation. She has extensive marketing and advertising experience predominantly in the healthcare sector, which supports the federation in communicating its projects and successes. Katherine leads the GPHP Community Cardiology Diagnostic Service and supports the federation in reporting monthly KPI reports for Cardiology, Improved Access and Dermatology and more recently, supporting to deliver the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

Helen Harwood, Operations Manager

Helen has over 25 years experience in general practice as a former Practice Manager for a large, successful surgery in the heart of Epsom.  There is little that Helen doesn’t know about primary care and navigating processes, policies and good governance.  Her unique set of skills and knowledge make her ideally placed as GPHP’s Improved Access Hub Manager where she seamlessly executes the service across multiple sites upholding the smooth running of the service all year round.  She is also instrumental in providing HR and financial administration support.

Catherine Frew Brown, Compliance Manager

Catherine has extensive experience of working in and on behalf of public sector organisations and primary care in particular. Catherine has provided interim senior management, consultancy, project and programme management for business transformations in the NHS for over 30 years. She brings a wealth of transferable skills, coupled with an eye for detail, an energy and inspiring enthusiasm which motivates change. As a highly qualified clinician and a senior manager with extensive experience of designing and implementing innovations in the management of care at local and national levels, or just trouble-shooting existing services, Catherine is ideally placed as GP Health Partner’s Compliance Manager to oversee CQC policies, process and implementation and drive ongoing service improvements.

GPHP HR & Admin Team

Helena Richards, Senior Administrator

Helena has extensive experience as a referrals administrator and has a keen eye for detail.  Helena already understands NHS processes and valuably applies her skills overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the Dermatology Step Up Clinic, Cardiology Diagnostic Service and Improved Access clinics in-hours. Helena also provides additional support to the Operations Managers coordinating audit data and supporting rota management.

Fran Belton, Administrator

Fran joined us from a local healthcare provider referrals team with excellent and proficient experience managing patient throughput and dealing with queries. Fran works alongside Helena Richards comprising the core day-to-day team responsible for the Dermatology Step-Up Clinic and our Cardiology Diagnostic Service.  Fran also provides additional invaluable support for IA and the COVID vaccination service.

Nina Jacobs, Administrator & Vaccine Queries Coordinator

Nina has previous experience at a nearby LVS and provides a dual role at GPHP managing patient vaccination queries, coordinating the volunteer rota and more recently supporting the team in an administrative capacity as required in our other services.
